In April 2007, Bohannon traveled to Basel, Switzerland, to attend BASELWORLD, “Die Weltmesse für Uhren und Schmuck” (the world fair for watches and jewelry). It’s by far the largest trade show of its kind on Earth, where over 100,000 attendees interact with over 2,100 exhibitors representing every facet of the industry. There he networked with case makers, band tanners, clasp manufacturers, packaging suppliers, and others involved in every aspect of the industry. It was at that show that a designer was recommended who was the perfect match for Bohannon’s project.
